Choose an amount and two currencies to get the converted amount at the latest rates. It converts among 13 currencies: Korean won, US dollar, Japanese yen, euro, Chinese yuan, British pound, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Swiss franc, Hong Kong dollar, Singapore dollar, Thai baht and Vietnamese dong, and shows the unit rate below, such as '1 USD = โโโโ.โโโโ KRW'. Use it to plan a travel budget or estimate overseas shop prices and card charges in your home currency.
When the page opens, it fetches each currency's rate against one US dollar from a public exchange rate service. Conversion between any two other currencies is a cross rate through the dollar: amount ร (target rate รท source rate). For instance, if at that moment 1 dollar were 1,380 won and 145 yen, 10,000 yen would be 10,000 ร 1,380 รท 145 โ 95,172 won (assumed rates for illustration). Won, yen and dong results are rounded to whole numbers with thousands separators; other currencies show two decimals. Editing the amount or switching currencies recalculates instantly, and the โ button in the middle swaps the source and target. If the rates cannot be loaded, a message asks you to try again later.
This tool uses a reference rate close to the mid-market value. Banks set separate buy and sell prices with a margin in between, so you pay more when buying foreign currency and receive less when selling.
The latest value from the provider is fetched each time you open the page, and the provider itself generally updates daily. Treat it as a reference, not a trading quote.
It calculates per 1 yen. To see won per 100 yen, as Korean banks quote it, enter 100 as the amount.
Thirteen: won, US dollar, yen, euro, yuan, pound, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Swiss franc, Hong Kong dollar, Singapore dollar, baht and dong. Any currency the provider does not return is left out of the list.
Rates are for reference only, differ from actual transaction rates, and are not financial advice.
